Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  4. Mix in the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in.
  6. Slowly add the flour and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.

These cookies are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be stored in an airtight container for up to five days. Freeze for longer storage up to three months.
