Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large loaf pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger). Whisk together until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla extract, and orange juice. Stir well until everything is combined.
- Pour the wet mix into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If you want the bread to look even more like brimstone, add a few drops of yellow and orange food coloring. Gently fold the colors into the batter until you reach the desired look.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Place the loaf pan in the oven. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cooling
- Once baked, remove the bread from the oven. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
