Preparation
- In a large mixing bowl, break the eggs and add the milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Use a whisk or a fork to beat the mixture until it is smooth and well combined.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated. Let the excess drip off.
Cooking
- Place a frying pan or griddle over medium heat. Add a little butter or oil to coat the surface.
- Place each slice of the coated bread into the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until it gets golden brown. Flip the bread and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.
- Once all the bread slices are cooked, remove them from the pan and place them on serving plates.
- Top each slice with sliced bananas, fresh blueberries, and chopped walnuts.
- Drizzle maple syrup on top if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious breakfast!
Notes
This French toast is best served warm. Garnish with additional fresh fruit or a dusting of powdered sugar for an appealing presentation.
