Preparation
- Butter a 9" x 13" casserole dish.
- In a large pot over low-medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the marshmallows and stir until smooth.
- Pour in the rice krispie cereal and stir until fully coated.
- Spoon the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread it evenly.
- Press until flat with hands or a spatula.
- Allow to set for 30 minutes.
- Cut into rectangles of various sizes.
Decorating
- Melt the green candy melts in a bowl over boiling water, stirring until smooth.
- Dip the top of each treat into the melted green candy.
- Immediately sprinkle black jimmies over the top.
- Add two royal icing eyes on top of each treat.
- Melt the black candy melts in the microwave in 10-15 second increments.
- Pipe stitches onto the treats with the melted black candy.
- Allow to set completely before packaging.
Notes
Store the Rice Krispie Treats in an airtight container for up to one week at room temperature or freeze for up to three months.
