  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder Use dark cocoa for a richer flavor.
  • 1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) Substitute with almond milk or coconut milk if desired.
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

Preparation
  1. Sift together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to remove any lumps.
  2. Add the milk and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix to combine until smooth.
  3. Adjust the thickness of your glaze by adding more powdered sugar for thickness, or more milk for a thinner consistency.
  4. For a glossy finish, add a small amount of corn syrup or glucose syrup.
  5. Store any leftover glaze in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to five days. Let it sit out for a few minutes before reusing if it thickens. Great as a topping for healthy snacks like Greek yogurt with berries.
