  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 8 ounces deli ham, sliced
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • to taste salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Spread mustard, if using, over the rolled pastry.
  4. Layer the ham slices evenly over the pastry, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Roll the pastry tightly into a log and cut into 1-inch slices.
  6. Place the pinwheels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden color.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Serve pinwheels warm for the best texture. They can be paired with dipping sauces and serve well at room temperature. For storage, cool completely, store in an airtight container. Can be reheated in the oven.
