  • 2-3 pieces sweet apples (Gala or Fuji work well)
  • to taste Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup caramel syrup (optional) For an optional salted caramel dip
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional) For an optional salted caramel dip

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 225 degrees F (105 degrees C).
  2. Carefully slice the apples very thin, aiming for about 1/8 inch thickness.
  3. Place the apple slices evenly on baking sheets, ideally lined with parchment paper.
  4. Sprinkle both sides of the apple slices with cinnamon.
Baking
  1. Bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven, then carefully flip the slices over.
  2. Bake the apple slices for an additional hour, until crispy.
  3. Turn off the oven and leave the apple slices inside for another 30 minutes to 1 hour to crisp up further.
Optional Dip
  1. For an optional salted caramel dip, combine caramel syrup and salt in a bowl and mix well.
Air Fryer Instructions
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 300 degrees F and air fry the apple slices for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Notes

Store dried apple chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer-safe bag up to 3 months.
