  • 2 to 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
  3. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  4. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in the flour until just incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This banana bread can be stored for up to three days at room temperature and frozen for up to three months. To enhance flavor and nutrition, serve with fresh fruit or nut butter.
