  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can be replaced with whole wheat flour for added fiber
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use dark chocolate chips for a healthier option

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  5. Stir in the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in the flour until just incorporated.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Banana bread is best served warm with nut butter. For meal prep, consider slicing and freezing individual servings.
