Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the chicken breasts into small pieces and season with salt, pepper, ground cumin, and smoked paprika.
Cooking the Chicken
  1. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Sautéing Onions and Garlic
  1. In the same pot, add more olive oil if needed, then sauté the chopped onion for about 3 to 4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute, being careful not to burn it.
Cooking Bulgur Wheat
  1. Add the bulgur wheat to the pot and stir to coat.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer.
Combining Ingredients
  1. After 10 minutes, return the cooked chicken to the pot. Stir and cover to cook for another 10 to 12 minutes, until bulgur is tender.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat and fluff the pilaf with a fork. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider swapping chicken for turkey or tofu, and adding vegetables for extra nutrition. Can be customized for meal prep as well.
