Ingredients
  

For the Meatloaf
  • 2 pounds ground beef Juicy ground beef for a savory flavor.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Used to bind the meatloaf mixture.
  • 1 onion, finely chopped Adds flavor and moisture.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Enhances the overall flavor.
  • 2 eggs Helps bind the ingredients together.
  • 1/2 cup ketchup Adds sweetness and moisture.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances all the flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper For seasoning.
For Topping
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots Provides a crunchy topping.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Adds a cheesy finish on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Press the meatloaf mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Cooking
  1. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the meatloaf mixture.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  3. Remove the dish and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots.
  4. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables. Extra ketchup or barbecue sauce can be offered for dipping.
