Ingredients
  

For the Ladybugs
  • 12 pieces Cherry tomatoes Choose ripe cherry tomatoes
  • 12 pieces Fresh mozzarella balls Bite-sized mozzarella balls
  • 12 leaves Fresh basil leaves Freshly washed
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic glaze For drizzling
  • 1 piece Black olives Used for eyes; sliced into small pieces
  • 12 pieces Toothpicks For assembling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half to create the ladybug body.
  2. Take a mozzarella ball and place it on top of the tomato half.
  3. Stick a toothpick through the mozzarella and into the tomato to secure it.
  4. Add small pieces of black olives on the mozzarella for eyes.
  5. Place a basil leaf on top or as wings.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

Caprese Ladybugs are best served fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a day in the refrigerator. Freezing is not recommended.
